About Me
My journey, passions, and what drives me as a developer.

World Champions in Robotics

In high school, I was part of the Turkish robotics team that won the World Championship at the Asia Pacific Open Championship in Sydney, Australia. Representing Turkey on an international stage and competing against teams from around the world was a defining moment that ignited my passion for computer science and engineering.
Building and programming robots from scratch taught me the fundamentals of systems thinking, hardware-software integration, and collaborative problem-solving under pressure. This experience was my first real exposure to programming and engineering—and it set the trajectory for my entire career in computer science.

Our team received the Innovative Solution Award (1st Place) at the Asia Pacific Open Championship — recognizing the originality and engineering excellence of our robot design and programming approach.

Erasmus Journey

During my Erasmus semester at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz (Feb–Jul 2024), I experienced one of the most transformative periods of my life. Moving to Austria alone pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me independence in ways that no classroom could.
Adapting to a new academic environment, navigating a different culture, managing daily life in a foreign language, and building connections from scratch strengthened my resilience and communication skills. The challenges of living independently in a new country—from finding accommodation to cooking for myself—gave me a deeper appreciation for adaptability and resourcefulness.
Beyond academics, exploring Central Europe, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and embracing daily challenges in a new environment gave me a global perspective that shapes how I approach problem-solving and collaboration today. It changed not just my professional outlook, but my entire worldview.
Courses & Topics at JKU Linz
- •Machine Learning & Algorithms — Gained expertise in CS courses focusing on supervised/unsupervised ML and algorithms/data structures: Bayes classification, density estimation, decision trees, Naive Bayes, neural networks, SVMs, ensemble methods, clustering, dimensionality reduction, Markov processes, maximum likelihood, hierarchical clustering, mixture models, PCA, matrix factorization, randomized algorithms, and more.
- •Computer Algebra for Concrete Mathematics — Basic notions, underlying algorithms, applications; simplifying enumeration formulas; tools for analyzing algorithms.
- •Behavioral Economics (finance minor) — Behavioral economics, individual preferences, time-inconsistent behavior, reference points.
What I Like Building
Real-Time Systems
WebRTC-based video platforms, Socket.IO signaling, and systems that demand low latency, state consistency, and graceful failure recovery. I love the challenge of making real-time communication reliable.
Full-Stack Products
End-to-end applications with clean REST APIs, robust auth, polished UIs, and thoughtful UX. From booking platforms to e-commerce systems, I enjoy owning the full product lifecycle.
ML/AI Projects
NLP, audio classification, computer vision, and transformer models. Whether it's sentiment analysis, polarization detection, or AR accessibility tools, I'm drawn to using AI for meaningful impact.
Now
What I'm currently working on
EchoSpace-AR
Building an AR system that detects surrounding sounds and renders directional icons for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users. Using Unity, Whisper, and a fine-tuned YAMNet model. Currently working on an academic publication for this project.
6G THz Drone Communications
Capstone research on ML-based channel selection and capacity optimization for THz-band drone networks, addressing ultra-massive MIMO and MAC-level challenges. Currently working on an academic publication for this research.
